Huawei has taken the route of the likes of Samsung and LG with their respective in-house operating systems that is Tizen and WebOS of running them on their Smart TVs and other connected devices. Huawei’s Hongmeng OS is also said to run its upcoming smart TV lineup according to Yicai Global.
The two respective companies then use Android for their phone divisions and we anticipate Huawei to do the same as tensions cool down between the US and China.
To put this into perspective, there is no clear dominant platform when it comes to connected
TVs even with the likes of Roku having had a clear headstart against competing platforms, it is hard to tell if they command a huge percentage outside the US.
