Its been over seven years since Instagram introduced the direct message feature on its platform. With time the company has introduced many other features within the app to keep the users engaged with the app.

You can create a poll in a direct message to ask a question, customize the answers and see how people vote.
To create a poll in a direct message:
- Tap messaging arrow icon in the top right of Feed.
- Tap a username or group name to open the conversation. You can also start a new conversation by tapping edit icon in the top right and selecting people you want to message.
- Open the camera and take a photo or video.
- Tap then tap Poll.
- Enter your question and answers, then tap Done. You can also move or resize the poll sticker.
- Tap Send.
See how people voted on your poll
To see how people voted on your poll of the direct message:
- Tap in the top right of Feed.
- Tap the message or messages where you sent the poll.
- You can see how someone voted below the photo you sent. If it’s a group message, you may need to tap See Updates to see each person’s response.
Keep in mind that if you created a group message, people in the message can’t see each other’s responses to the poll.
