Last year in November, the call for applications for the 2018/2019 support program was made through the office of Hon. Frank Tumwebaze which attracted about 665 applications as per report from the ministry.

This is a good effort from the government to facilitate the growth of the digital ecosystems and 100 applicants have been shortlisted to pitch to a committee of experts between 14th to 16th May 2019 where successful startups will be chosen for the next phase. There are no promises on the cash prize to be won and the participants have been categorized into five groups of Agriculture, Education, Health, Public sectors management, and others.
