2018 has been quite a year for Facebook. It is in the year that the platform launched the Portal – the company’s very first video chat device, rolled out 3D photos, and upgraded Messenger.
However, there is still quite a lot that users find wanting about the app, that should probably be seen in 2019.
With messaging becoming the way-to-go format for communication, even formally, Facebook Messenger is deemed to do much more to keep users up to tabs with the app.
Dark Mode
Having an app in dark mode is a fan favorite, for individual reasons best known to themselves. Facebook has been reported to test the mode in Messenger in some countries, with a possible public release coming soon.
Dark mode basically changes the standard background of the app to a darker colour like grey or black, thus reducing effects such as eye strain that is associated with white backgrounds.

Unsend feature
Facebook has for sometime been working out an option to remove messages from a conversation in case someone sent them by mistake.
Currently, a user can remove messages from conversations, but the person to whom the message was sent will still see it in the chronology of the conversation.
A possible update to Messenger will give a user up to ten minutes to unsend a message, so as to remove it from the conversation for both parties.

Many more other features are int he pipeline, and we shall keep you updated as they roll in.
