I always get enraptured like I just got a taste of the heavens whenever I get called up to pick a brand new review device from Infinix, a brand that makes it a point to design beautifully yet still delivering big on specs. While the Infinix S3 is still a hot deal, Infinix has now released two more devices to give its Hot line vigor. The said devices are the Infinix Hot 6 and Infinix Hot 6 Pro. But first, we shall look at the Pro side of the Infinix Hot 6. These are the specs, unboxing, hands on and first impressions after we spent a few hours in the company of the Infinix Hot 6 Pro.

Unboxing.
Infinix continues providing an “everything-in-there” retail box with its smartphones just like we saw when we unboxed the Infinix S3. The included accessories may not be the best the world can offer, but we are glad Infinix provides almost everything to get your smartphone experience started. Our review device came in a City Blue retail box with the phone name written on the bottom.
After putting off the clear plastic wrapping and opening the two-part retail box, it revealed the Sandstone Black Hot 6 Pro with a specs sticker covering the front glass panel.
The retail box includes;
- The Hot 6 Pro.
- Pair of headsets.
- SIM tray ejector pin.
- Silicon Phone case.
- Micro USB Cable.
- Wall charging adapter.
- Screen protector.
- User manual.
- Warrant card.
Hands On and First impressions.
Setting up the Hot 6 Pro is pretty easy if you have ever bought a new Android device, and it takes just a few minutes. The home screen with really colourful wallpapers is the first thing you see after the phone fully powers on and the setup done. The first thing we realised was the absence of the app drawer icon but a swipe from below brings the list of apps.
Camera.
The Dual rear cameras Hot 6 Pro seeems to command more clout than its other sibling, the Hot 6, maybe because of its twin camera setup or the Pro branding to its name. The dual camera setup reminded us about the Infinix Zero 5 and it’s portrait mastery. While the Hot 6 Pro didn’t shoot better than the Zero 5, it delivered better portraits than the competition thanks to its Dual 13MP + 2MP rear cameras. We shall do further tests in different light environments in the review.
Display.
Infinix went out of its comfort zone and made the biggest display on any Infinix Hot device. The 6″ HD+ Infinity display with the now ubiquitous 18:9 aspect ratio is really tall and attempting one handed use, even with the longest of fingers may just lead your device into free fall. The display is pretty bright and the colours really pop.
Face Unlock.
Infinix Hot 6 Pro comes with software enabled Face Unlock feature straight out of the box, not like the S3 which required an update to get the feature. The Face ID is pretty impressive and fast. More about the Face Unlock feature will come in the soon to come review of the Infinix Hot 6 Pro. For the Old School guys, there is a blazing fast nicely placed rear mounted fingerprint to unlock the phone.
Battery.
The battery life looks good on paper, but we shall test the real world performance soon and see how the bigger display affects the 4,000mAh battery. The Hot 6 Pro supports Quick Charge 2.0 technology, meaning you can go from 0-100% in just an hour.
Just like the Infinix S3, the plastic back is still a fingerprint magnet so you will need a dedicated microfiber cloth to keep it clean. But hey, you get a silicon case in the retail box, so it will save you a few wipes.
The new XOS 3.2 Hummingbird is awesome and colourful. We shall dig further into what it brings but we love the included Apps. The rest of the Hot 6 Pro is pretty predictable, and that’s fine by me.
Wrap up.
There are plenty of positive things to say about the Infinix Hot 6 Pro. As always, the pricing is very attractive when you consider all the features the phone offers. Honestly, it’s arguably one of the best reasons to buy this Infinix phone in the first place. At only UGX 539,000, you can get this device from any Infinix branded shop. Watch out for the revie
