    YouTube support on old Apple devices to come to an end, says Google

    Google has announced that YouTube support on old Apple devices and apps manufactured in 2012 and earlier will be scrapped off the list of devices to be supported after this month. These devices include Sony TVs & Blu-ray Discs, Panasonic TVs & Blu-ray Discs, older iOS devices, and devices running older versions of Google TV. The upgrade also affects the 2nd gen Apple TV. The company said in a blog post that;

    “As we upgrade the YouTube Data API to bring more features, we’ll begin shutting down the old version on April 20, 2015. This will result in the current YouTube app not working on certain device models from 2012 and older,”

    At this point till end of the month, your YouTube apps will work as usual but if insist on using them after the allotted period, except that a discontinuation video will be shown each time you access them. The old API will start receiving 410 Gone HTTP responses. Check source links below for more information.
