Have you ever wondered why you copy a nice clear picture from your PC or camera and the moment you share it on WhatsApp as a direct message or on your status, its quality deteriorates? Well, here is why.
WhatsApp and Facebook use an automatic compression technology called lossy compression to reduce the amount of data stored on their servers.
When it comes to sharing images, WhatsApp is certainly one of the most popular apps. When we want to share a photo with someone, we usually select that picture and forward it to a recipient in a private chat or group. What many of us don’t know is that while doing so, the quality of the picture received on the other end does not remain the same as that of the original picture because of this lossy compression.
How to share Whatsapp pictures without quality loss
Today we are here to guide you on how to share WhatsApp pictures and they still maintain their original format without any deterioration in quality but better not have any of these phones. This is how;
Normally when we want to send someone an image, we open a recipient contact > select the attachment option > choose gallery, select a picture and then send. Unless these pictures are raw from our phone camera, the quality of ones sent and received tends to vary.
The easiest way of sharing a picture that will maintain its quality when received on the other end, is by choosing a contact or group you want to send the picture to, select the option of attaching a file, choose document, not Gallery, then select the image from your local or secondary storage then share it.
It will be received on the other end as a document file but viewable via any smartphone’s gallery.
Note: This option only works on Android as of this writing.
