As Nokia flirts with Android, is Samsung resurrecting Symbian?

Samsung recently sent out invitations to its first big Unpacked event of 2014 — that will take place on February 24th — with the large inclusion of the number 5 in the title. We all suspect is the launch of Galaxy s5. Today, we get to see a new icon set from Samsung, which could mean at a redesigned TouchWiz interface and extending the theme of 5. The new icons are rounded , suggesting Fun, Speed, and Life to the power of 5.

Based on the images that were already leaked previously, there is more hinting on a lighter TouchWiz for the next Galaxy flagship. Can we assume this is the “going back to the basics”  Samsung was talking about? To us this icon layout is more of a Symbian OS UI rip off, but then again, we can’t judge until they have officially released the phone.
