Poll: Do you think MTN deserves the UCC UGX 5 Billion Fine?

Yesterday, we saw the telecom regulator for the first time come out to exercise its mandate on Uganda’s biggest telecom company as derived from the Uganda Communications Act 2013. The telco regulator   invoked section 41 (1) (a) and section 41 (2) (b) of the Uganda Communications Act and imposed a fine against MTN Uganda for breach of communication directives and non-compliance a charge of UGX 5 billion ($ 1.7 million).

It will obviously come as no surprise that MTN has a defense to counter UCC’s stand and revoke this fine probably in courts of law or after mediation with the regulator . But in your opinion as a customer or well-wisher, do you think MTN deserves the UCC UGX 5 Billion Fine? Vote below.
