In less than 12 hours at 20:00 HRS East African Time (19:00 HRS GMT) Microsoft will have a special Windows event. Last year in August, the company rolled out Windows 8.1 which got mixed reactions and we hope all those issues will be sorted out in the next upcoming version. Today we shall get to know what Microsoft has prepared for what’s next for “Windows and the enterprise.” The software maker is expected to detail upcoming changes to Windows at the event, including what we saw earlier this month, the much anticipated return of the Start Menu, and also new virtual desktop features. We also expect a number of new changes to the traditional desktop area of Windows.

It’s clearly an event targeted for power users and enterprise customers, and should give us an early look at what to expect from what many are calling Windows 9 aka Threshold (TH).

Microsoft is expected to release a “Windows Technical Preview” in early October that will be updated regularly with new features for enterprise customers and enthusiasts to test ahead of a full launch next year. We currently don’t know the future of windows naming and we also expect to have a refresh from Windows 9, to just Windows or an entirely different brand. Keep it locked at techjaja for updates on this.
