The program is available to all TECNO customers in Uganda who own a previous version of the Spark series. To participate in the program, customers must visit their nearest Carlcare service center, where their old TECNO smartphone will be checked to assess its condition and value.

How to determine the phone value before swap

The estimate for a smartphone trade-in value is typically determined by a few key factors:

Model and age: The model and age of the smartphone are important factors in determining its value. Newer and more popular models will generally have a higher trade-in value than older or less popular models.

Condition: The condition of the smartphone is another important factor. If the phone is in good working condition with no major scratches or damage, it will typically have a higher trade-in value. Some programs may also offer different values for phones with varying degrees of wear and tear.

Accessories and original packaging: Some swap programs may offer a higher trade-in value if the smartphone is accompanied by its original accessories or packaging, such as the charger or the box it came in.

Market demand: The demand for the particular smartphone model may also affect its trade-in value. If a particular model is in high demand in the secondary market, it may have a higher trade-in value than a model that is less popular.

    The final trade-in value

The final price or the trade-in value is typically determined through a combination of methods, including using an app or software, as well as a physical inspection of the device.

In some cases, an app or website is used to get an estimated trade-in value for the smartphone. These tools usually require the customer or the Carlcare agent to enter information about the make and model of their smartphone, as well as its condition. The app or website may use algorithms to calculate the trade-in value based on this information, as well as market demand and other factors.

However, the final trade-in value may also be determined through a physical inspection of the device. This could involve an agent examining the smartphone to assess its condition, functionality, and other factors that could affect its value. They may also take into account any accessories or original packaging that the customer includes with the device.

Once the condition and value of the old smartphone have been determined, the customer will be advised on the top-up amount required to upgrade to the new SPARK 10 Series. This ensures that customers get a fair trade-in value for their old smartphone while also being able to afford the new device.
