Not being able to download a hilarious video for keeps from Facebook can be exasperating. Most users really hate the feeling of having to watch the videos only through Facebook. Whereas Facebook’s save link feature can come in handy, it might not do for some users who want to play the videos offline. Luckily, there are certain ways you can download videos from Facebook (ones you uploaded and those uploaded by others) without using any software as long as you are using Facebook on a computer.
To download a video you posted.
If you uploaded videos on Facebook previously and you want them back, you just have to do the following:
- Open Facebook and go to your Photos/Albums.
- Select the video you want to download and open it.
- Once you open the video, click the Options link under the video.
- In Options link there are options like Download HD and Download SD.
- Click on the required link depending on the quality of the video you want to download.
To download a video posted/shared by a friend.
Unlike the videos you uploaded yourself, these take a different procedure to download. Facebook doesn’t let you download videos your friends upload, but there is a loop hole you can use to download that video without any complicated software.
- Open Facebook and find the video you want to download.
- Play it and select the link in the address bar.
- Then change the URL in Address bar as follows- change “www” to “m” so that the initial part of the URL looks like https://m.facebook.com/……
- Once you change it, press enter to open the mobile version of the page.
- Once the mobile version of the page opens, click play and right click the video and then from the options select Save video as, Save target as or Save link as depending on the kind of browser you are using on your computer.
- Then choose where you want to save it.
