MTN Uganda has officially launched Free Your Data, a major refresh of its Monthly Data Bundles that delivers substantially more gigabytes without raising prices. Unveiled on 25 August 2026 under the tagline “Free Your Data – More GBzzz, Same Same Price,” the permanent upgrade gives customers extra data to stay online longer while pursuing studies, content creation, side hustles or remote work.

The Free Your Data move forms a key part of MTN’s Free Your Fire campaign, which aims to keep young Ugandans connected so they can chase their ambitions. By boosting the value of monthly packs, MTN is removing one of the biggest barriers to digital progress: running out of data halfway through the month.
Here’s how the Free Your Data bundles stack up:
- UGX 6,500 → 2 GB (previously 1.5 GB)
- UGX 10,000 Hero Pack → 4 GB (previously 3.2 GB)
- UGX 26,000 Hero Pack → 20 GB (previously 10 GB)
- UGX 50,000 → 45 GB (previously 22 GB)
- UGX 100,000 → 100 GB (previously 48 GB)
- UGX 170,000 → 200 GB (previously 85 GB)
The standout wins under Free Your Data are the UGX 26,000 pack doubling to 20 GB and the higher tiers nearly doubling as well. That extra headroom means fewer top-ups and more freedom to stream, upload, learn or sell online.
Activating Free Your Data is simple. Dial 1002# (or 1652# via MoMo), select Monthly Bundles, or grab the packs directly in the MyMTN App or MoMo App. The new allocations are available to every MTN customer as a permanent offering.
Sylvia El-Sheikh, Chief Marketing Officer at MTN Uganda, said: “At MTN, we believe every Ugandan has a fire within them—a passion, an ambition or a dream waiting to be realized. Through our Free Your Fire campaign, we are committed to enabling our customers access digital tools that help turn those ambitions into reality. Free Your Data is another important step in that journey because it gives our customers more data, more freedom and more opportunities to learn, create, work, entertain themselves and grow, all without paying more.”
With Free Your Data, MTN is reinforcing its role as Uganda’s largest connectivity provider by giving customers the extra runway they need in an increasingly digital world. More data at the same price means more time online, more creation, and more opportunity—exactly what the Free Your Fire movement set out to deliver.
