    Alcatel introduces the One Touch Idol 2 line up

    In the mobile space the One Touch brand doesn’t have a solid recognition like offerings from other Android OEMs. The brand from the french OEM has come a long way starting with feature phones into a fully fledged smartphone lineup coming into direct competition with the likes of Galaxy, Xperia, Ascend and many smartphone line ups out there. The French OEM is not looking back as it’s set to unveil the idol 2 lineup this week with offerings such as a 5-inch idol 2 and a smaller 4.5 inch model dubbed the idol 2 mini each coming with a 3G model as well as an LTE variant branded “S”.

    The mini measures 8.5mm thick, features a 4.5-inch qHD display, a quad core 1.2GHz processor running on Android 4.3 (upgradable to 4.4), NFC, an 8MP rear camera as well as a 2MP front shooters. The “S” variant of the idol 2 mini comes with a metal back unlike the 3G model which is embedded in plastic.

    The larger counterpart, the idol 2 is 7.3mm thick offers improved HD audio, a 720P IPS display, a quad core 1.2GHZ processor, NFC powered by Android 4.3 upgradable to 4.4 KitKat.
