In a move that merges education and technology, Eurosat Group has unveiled its latest innovation, Edusat ERP, during the ongoing #40Days40FinTechs initiative.
This robust School Management platform is designed to streamline operations for academic institutions of all levels, offering a comprehensive suite of features that includes managing academic records, financial transactions, and staff information.
Mr. Alawi Mutebi, the Founder and CEO of Eurosat Group, emphasized the transformative potential of Edusat ERP, stating, “We have developed Edusat ERP which combines both FinTech and EduTech. We are looking at providing a complete solution that enables schools to engage parents and manage their day-to-day processes like finances and academics.”
He elaborated on the platform’s capabilities, noting that it integrates various school fees payment systems, allowing parents to pay fees directly while also tracking their children’s academic performance.
The platform’s user-friendly mobile app is a key feature, enabling parents to access their children’s educational details seamlessly.
“After we enroll a school on to this platform, each parent that downloads the app and registers is automatically mapped to their kids’ education details – finances and academics,” Mr. Mutebi explained.
With over 20 schools already onboarded, each averaging 500 students, Eurosat aims to expand its reach to more than 100 schools by the year’s end.
Despite these advancements, Mr. Mutebi acknowledged the challenges facing digital solutions in Uganda, particularly the high costs of internet access and devices, which hinder broader adoption.
He stressed the importance of collaboration among industry players to overcome these obstacles, stating, “Active collaborations among industry players are key to curing most of these obstacles and positively impact society.”
The launch of Edusat ERP is part of the broader #40Days40FinTechs initiative, which showcases innovations aimed at improving financial inclusion for underserved populations.
This initiative, run under HiPipo’s Include Everyone program, has become a vital platform for stakeholders in the financial technology sector to share ideas and solutions. With over 150 participants in the past four years, it continues to be a premier event for showcasing innovations that empower communities to join the digital economy.
