How to search for a song on TikTok by singing or humming

TikTok recently launched a new feature called “Sound Search” that allows users to identify songs by singing, humming, or playing them. This innovative tool is designed to enhance music discovery on the platform and compete with existing song recognition services like Shazam and YouTube Music.

Here’s how you can use TikTok’s Sound Search feature to find songs by singing or humming.

• Open the TikTok app and tap on the search bar at the top of the screen.
• Click on the microphone icon located in the search bar.
• Select the “Sound Search” option from the menu that appears.
• Start singing, humming, or playing the song you want to identify. The feature works best with more popular songs on the platform.
• TikTok will then display the song title and relevant videos that feature the identified track. If the song is not very popular on the app, the tool may not show any related videos.

Unlike Shazam, which requires you to play the actual song, TikTok’s Sound Search can recognize songs based on your humming or singing.

However, it is important to note that the feature is currently only available to a select group of users in certain regions, and there is no information yet on when it will be released to all users.
