With the global effects of the increase in prices of basic commodities, several companies are trying to stay afloat. DStv Uganda has increased its monthly subscription fees on all its services. Effective 1st September 2022, subscribers will start paying up to a 7% increment on some of the packages like the DStv family. The South African-based digital satellite television says, the price increase has been due to the “rise of cost in doing business, we need to adjust the price of our packages so as to continue providing you with unrivaled entertainment.”

The Premium has been increased by 6% from UGX 525,000 to UGX 239,000. DStv Compact+and Compact Bouquets will increase by 5% and 6% respectively will now cost UGX 150,000 and UGX 95,000 from UGX 142,000 and 89,000 respectively. DStv Family monthly subscription will cost UGX 59,000 and DStv Access will increase by 5% to UGX 39,000 from UGX 37,000. DStv Asian has remained unchanged at UGX 132,000.
HD PVR Access service is the Access Fee that gives users an additional viewing environment without having to pay an extra subscription. This additional environment can be through another decoder connected in XtraView or through the recording capacity on your decoder. This DStv Uganda service has been increased from UGX 46,000 to UGX 44,000.
The same DStv Uganda pricing has been also been imposed on the Xtraview service. XtraView is a way to keep the whole family happy. With XtraView, you can link either two or three decoders together under ONE subscription (and only pay a monthly Access Fee for the other decoders). When linking two decoders, users pay their normal monthly subscription plus ONE Access Fee. If one of the decoders is a PVR, you are already paying an Access Fee, so don’t need to pay any more – this means that monthly viewing on your second decoder is free! When linking three decoders, you will pay your normal monthly subscription plus TWO Access Fees.
