Screen protestors are tempered glass made of a thin sheet of toughened, fortified glass that you can stick to your phone screen to protect against damage such as scratches or cracks.

It consists of a bottom layer of absorbent silicon, combined with a PET film and an oleophobic coating on the top. Tempered glass is about five times stronger than regular glass. It boasts 9H hardness that can withstand scratches from objects as sharp as a knife.

Depending on the maker, a tempered glass screen protector can be tricky to apply. If it’s not done correctly, air bubbles or smudges can form on your screen. However, many latest tempered glasses come with easy-application kits and instructions that help you out. The curved edges allow them to get installed bubble-free.

When it comes to toughness, there is no doubt that a good screen protector offers 9H hardness which can withstand most minor drops and falls, as well as scratches from something as sharp as a knife. However, the downside is that it can shatter under severe impacts, such as a significant drop.

Let’s not forget, that glass is glass, and glass will always break. This is why some people will opt to go without a screen protector. So that is why we want to find out if screen protectors are your cup of tea or you prefer to “go live”.
