Today Apple has announced the new iPad Air, talking generally, and just like the Apple Watch Series 6, the new tablet looks like the previous ones. The 8th Generation tablet has the same design and new performance thanks to the A14 Bionic chip that will enable 40% faster CPU and has a 2X jump in graphics.
Apple says the new iPad Air is two times faster than the top-selling windows laptop, 3x Android tablet, 6x Chromebook. It is clear Apple knows where its strength is. The new tablet will work with keyboards and the Apple Pencil.
Still talking up Apple Pencil, including the new features in iPadOS 14. (It’s still funny that there are different Apple Pencils for the regular iPad and the iPad Pros.) Same as the old one the new iPad Air has a 10.2-inch display but the main difference is the new chip.
iPad Air was designed to offer pro features at an affordable price and is a new mission statement for the iPad Air and it looks like the iPad Pro 11-inch. It comes in a bunch of colors including pink, blue, green, and gray
It has a 10.9-inch liquid retina display measuring at 2360 x 1650 px with a fully laminated, True Tone, anti-reflective coating. It has Touch ID in the sleep/wake button i.e Touch ID fingerprint sensor is integrated into the “top button.”
The new A14 chip powering the iPad Air is the first 5-nanometer chip in the industry with 11.8 billion transistors. It has high-performance caches, a 6-core design (two high, four low). 40% performance improvement over the last iPad Air. New GPU as well.

There’s no question that the chips in iPads have been very, very fast, but the open question with iPads has always been: what pro apps really take advantage of all this power? But there is no doubt is that this is by far the most advanced chip Apple has ever made.
As a surprise the iPad Air will now support USB-C. So why not the next iPhone?
When it comes to the cameras, the new iPad Air comes with a 7-megapixel front camera. 1080p for video calls. The back has the iPad Pro’s 12-megapixel camera, supports 4K video with improved stabilization. This really feels like a nice update to the Pro design, minus the LIDAR sensor.
The iPad Air will starts at UGX 2.3m ($599), available starting next month.
