    Multichoice Uganda’s latest customer upgrade Campaign leaves subscribers confused

    Multichoice Uganda has today announced the January Step Up or customer upgrade Campaign. After the December festivities, January can tend to be slow and financially challenging month for most average Ugandans. DStv found it wise to introduce a new promotion that will upgrade customers to higher packages once they pay their subscription. The Head of Retention, MultiChoice Uganda Sauya Nakayiga, said;

    “This offer is just one of the ways in which we want to show our loyal customers that we value them. We understand the economic pressures that the beginning of the year can bring, and this is a great opportunity to enrich lives with access to additional quality entertainment on us”

    The issues started when subscribers started reading between the lines of this customer upgrade campaign, as some of them began paying their subscriptions with the same package they been paying for in the previous months only not to get any upgrade. It’s at this point DStv clarified about the customer upgrade promo on its Facebook page has said that an upgrade is given after you have paid subscription for a higher package than the initial one you have been viewing.

    This information left the customers more confused and some felt its misleading as the campaign would have read “… Will upgrade customers who upgrade their subscription.”
    Some wondered that if a customer has been on compact plus and upgrades to premium, how will they benefit from the promo?

    DStv went on to clarify on the confusion around the customer upgrade promo and said on its Facebook page that ;

    DStv Premium customers already have all access to all the channels, the Step-Up campaign only applies to Access, Family, Compact and Compact Plus customers. Customers will be notified of other special offers as applicable. These customers can still benefit from other special offers that are tailor-made for each customer. They can look out for communication from DStv on their registered mobile number or on screen via Envelope DSD.
