    Airtel unveils broadband internet bundles, but none is unlimited

    For Homes and SMEs

    Airtel Uganda has unveiled new internet solutions targeting homes, and SMEs ie Small and Medium Enterprises but unfortunately these are not the unlimited internet packages of your dreams. For customers who will opt for these packages will be given an Airtel broadband Outdoor Unit, at a cost of UGX 280,000 inclusive of a 50 GB of Data valid for 30 days, free installation and device maintenance. This means the internet will be capped with both speeds and data usage limit.

    The fixed internet solution is similar to whats Roke telkom and Africell offer utilizing the free wireless bands to deliver internet to homes and small offices. The fixed internet device comes will be able to connect not more than 32 internet-powered devices including; smartphones, game consoles, laptops, tablets, smart TVs, security cameras and many others to internet. This service will be initially rolled out in Kampala.

    In order to recharge these packages you will need to;

    • Buy data bundles via the Airtel USSD Menu by dialing *100# Selecting Option 9. Broadband Offers
    • Buy data bundles through Airtel Money
    • Visit the Airtel Broadband Self-care portal
    • You can also visit any Airtel service center or partner shop and pay for your Data bundle recharge

    According to Airtel Uganda’s Managing Director Mr. V.G. Somasekhar, the solution is ideal for businesses that need a reliable, fast internet for uninterrupted operations. He adds that it as well addresses the need for the smart home since it supports simultaneous connections for streaming online content, e-entertainment; while still acting as a WiFi Router for the entire house at the same capped monthly cost.
