Uber increases fares on UberX in Kampala by 25%

Uber has today increased its fares on UberX by 25% and this doesn’t affect Uberboda. Uber still remains committed to providing a reliable earning opportunity for driver-partners, as well as a reliable and affordable service for you. With this in mind, from 24 June 2019, the minimum fare increased on uberX from UGX.4000 to UGX.5000 in Kampala.

The per kilometre cost on your uberX trips in Kampala will remain UGX.600, which means that it will still be one of your city’s most affordable options.

While we have always tried to keep prices as low as possible, we need to be aware of the increased costs for driver-partners. This comes after implementing an in-depth earnings review to ensure that the Uber app continues to be a reliable economic opportunity for drivers, as well as an affordable option for riders.

The new fare structure means that we can invest even further in Uber’s existing technology – with improvements that we’ve recently introduced to help keep you safer on the road.
