Cameras.
While both camera departments will excite users with dope photos, the big jump to dual rear camera setup on the Hot 6 Pro is one above that of the Hot 6. The Hot 6 Pro has dual 13MP + 2MP rear cameras while the Hot 6 has one 13MP camera at the back. The additional 2MP camera at the back of the Hot 6 Pro result in better portrait shots when compared to the Hot 6.
The selfie camera is similar on both phones. But the Hot 6 Pro has a single LED flash at the front while the Hot 6 has dual LED front flashlight. Consequently, the Hot 6 takes clearer selfies in darker environments compared to the Hot 6 Pro. Day light selfies are technically the same quality.
Processor Power.
Infinix used different processors for each of these devices. The Infinix Hot 6 stays true to the cause of its predecessors by using a MediaTek chipset. However, the Hot 6 Pro follows in the Qualcomm Snapdragon footprints that the Infinix S3 started. The Hot 6 is powered by a more powerful Quad-core Snapdragon 425 clocked at 1.4GHz compared to the Quad-core MediaTek MT6580 clocked at 1.3GHz that powers the Hot 6. The Snapdragon processor in the Hot 6 Pro is significantly faster than the MediaTek used in the Hot 6.
Performance.
On paper, the Infinix Hot 6 Pro trumps the Hot 6 even with optimised Go Edition of Android up its sleeve. During our time with the Hot 6 Pro, we’ve noticed that it is fast and all-round smoother. Pitting the two phones head to head, we found that the Hot 6 Pro carried out most tasks more quickly – be it firing open apps, loading webpages or taking photos. This is because of a difference in both RAM and processors. The Hot 6 has 1GB of RAM while the Hot 6 Pro has 2GB/3GB of RAM. The Hot 6 however doesn’t disappoint either.
Marketing slogans.
Their marketing slogans give the biggest difference between the two phones. The Hot 6 is marketed using #PlayItLive slogan. This is because of the flagship grade sound quality from the dual speakers. The Hot 6 Pro however is marketed using the #DoubleAmazing slogan because of the camera setup.
Price.
While Infinix priced both devices attractively, the difference in specs causes a difference in price too. The Hot 6 Pro retails at around UGX 539,000 while the Hot 6 retails at UGX 468,000.
Conclusion
The two Infinix phones are available at all Infinix branded shops. They are both slightly large phones. The Hot 6 Pro has some standout features like the Dual camera setup and others that might be enough to raise it not just above the Hot 6, but above much of the competition too. The Hot 6 has 3D stereo sound and comes at a slightly lower price.
