These are the 8 changes made in the new hard-to-forge Uganda Computerized Driving Permit

Uganda driving permit

The Government is as concerned about driving permit forgery as it is about currency. The driving permit has seen a few changes in years and forgers had worked their way up in making duplicates of the driving permit that were hard to differentiate with a naked eye from the original government issued driving permit. The government was well aware of this and now the driving permit has seen a face lift.

The Ministry of Works and Transport contracted Face Technologies Limited, a Kyambogo Industrial Area based company to design, print and supply Computerized Driving Permits (CDPs). Face Technologies now collects biometric data from individuals seeking new driving permits and has made 8 changes in the new Uganda computerized driving permits that will be issued with effect from 23rd April, 2018.

Maxing out on security features

The security features of the Uganda Computerized Driving Permit have been enhanced to conform To the current international standards and minimize forgeries. The Ministry of Works and Transport in partnership with Face Technologies Limited will start issuing the new hard to forge Uganda Computerized Driving Permit starting 23rd April.
