Samsung shows off its Smartphone display roadmap; Expect eye poping pixel technologies

The next big smartphone display resolution will no longer be FullHD, now we shall adopt WQHD resolution, or 2560 x 1440 pixels. According to Samsung they showed off some future plans, and the display category was highlighted by the promise of 560ppi AMOLED panels for phones. Combine that with the 1440p resolution and you get a 5.2-inch handset.  For those who feel that not enough, we’re told to look forward to 4K resolutions — also known as Ultra HD or 3840 x 2160 — in 2015  it has also foldable displays on its mind for 2015 or, more realistically, 2016. The company also says it has shipped over 100 million units of its Galaxy S and Note handsets during 2013, plus a forecast that wearable and flexible devices will be the next big category of disruptive technology.
