US based global software development and products company ThoughtWorks, has officially pulled the plug on their Uganda office. This comes at a time when the company has for sometime been rumored to be struggling to sustain their operations in Uganda. Sources close to the matter have told Techjaja that their exit was due to no business visibility beyond 2017. This closure has reportedly left several workers perplexed and some stranded.
Since August 2012, the company’s Kampala office has been a collaborative space that houses several technologists who are passionate about making a difference. They recently shifted from Soliz House Lumumba Ave to a more spacious office space in the heart of Nakawa at UAP Nakawa Business Park. Thoughworks Uganda has also been the weekly home for GeekNight Kampala and Ruby Fridays catering to increase the awareness of the programming language. Keep it at techjaja for more.
