Finally, Facebook at work is here to compete with Microsoft and Google

Remember that Facebook office social network we talked about in November last year? Its called  Facebook At Work, and it seems Mark Zuckerberg and Co. will be taking on office titans like Microsoft and Google. Today the company is launching its office-focused collaborative app on the web, for both Android, and iOS. Facebook at Work, will only be available to a few companies participating in the initial pilot since the software is still in early in development. According to The Wall Street Journal, the app looks and feels like the Facebook we now use, with no ads and no way for Facebook to keep track of any corporate user data.

The company feels they will change the way people work, by using existing features like groups, events, messaging, and even the news feed will translate well into furthering office productivity. With Facebook At Work, they have also implemented a clear detachment between professional and personal profiles and the accounts aren’t visible to people outside pilot companies, so you don’t need to worry about posting sensitive data for everyone to see.
