Today, the Queen’s of England has sent her first ever tweet – sent through the @BritishMonarchy account – at the launch of a major new show at the Science Museum. The tweet said:

Early this morning the Queen opened the Information Age gallery that, takes visitors through memory lane of the history of modern communications from the telegraph to the smartphone. At the gallery there is the first transatlantic telegraph cable which connected Europe and North America, the broadcast equipment behind the BBC’s first radio programme in 1922, and Sir Tim Berners-Lee’s NeXT computer, which hosted the first website.
This gallery is aimed to showcase Britain’s contribution to the tech industry, it included a number of British companies including BT and the chip designer ARM Holdings.
