HTC’s next tablet has been rumored for long, the company hasn’t made any tablet since 2011 as their last Nexus device the Nexus One we last saw in 2010. According to confirmed rumors by The Wall Street Journal‘s sources today, the Nexus 9 tablet will be the come back of HTC into Google’s  Nexus program to make the successor to Samsung’s last Nexus 10 tablet. The Journal says that HTC engineers have been flying back and forth between Mountain View and their Taiwanese base as the two companies collaborate on the development of the new 9-inch device.

Nvidia Tegra K1 to Power the Tablet

There is also much evidence to indicate that this tablet will be running Nvidia’s chips instead of Qualcomms’ as earlier this month, a patent lawsuit filed by Nvidia against Qualcomm and Samsung mentioned that “the HTC Nexus 9, expected in the third quarter of 2014, is also expected to use the Tegra K1.” This document was however quickly revised to remove the Nexus 9’s name. No further specs or details are known about the device just yet, but all we know it will be running the next Android L update.
