    Samsung reminds us how good point and shoot cameras should run on Android, with the new Galaxy Camera 2

    Samsung as of today has unveiled the second generation Galaxy Camera 2, its basically a smart point-and-shoot that runs Android, and also has wireless connectivity. It features a gorgeous large, 4.8-inch touchscreen and Samsung has the hopes of making photos easy to share and edit using the hundreds of existing Android apps.  The company promises that the new camera will take better shots unlike its predecessor,

    • 16-megapixel resolution
    • A small 1/2.33-inch sensor size
    • A 1.6GHz processor
    • 2GB of RAM
    • 350 shots worth of battery life
    • Android 4.3
    • Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and NFC connectivity (No word of 3G or LTE version)
    • 21x zoom range
    • The ability to go up to 3200 ISO
    • 1080p video, and film slow motion at 120 frames per second

    As we prepare for the CES next week we expect many companies to display several products and Samsung will also announce its mirrorless camera follow up to the NX20 , the NX30. It will have an improved  camera processor, a touchscreen and also will come with Adobe’s Lightroom 5 for photo editing.
