Motorola is building a comprehensive offering for the entry-level Android market, they truly want to compete with the likes of Huawei and ZTE in emerging markets and has today launched the long rumored Moto E, the company’s cheapest Android phone yet. Pushing the price down even further they have introduced the Moto E, which trims down the specs to their bare minimum to hit the $129/ UGX 300,000 price point.

Motorola has also upgraded the existing Moto G to support LTE With the addition of these two new phones. The Moto E opens it up to an even broader audience but targets mainly areas where smartphones are costly. The E and the G will have support for microSD card slots, which is a much-needed feature for us here. They’ll be available in more than 40 countries and from over 80 carriers in the coming weeks.

The phone is running on what Motorola says is “pure Android.” on the latest Android KitKat (4.4.2) on board and guarantees to upgrade them to the next major revision of the operating system when it comes out, how sweet. It’s clear Motoral wants to end the reign of dump-phones.
