    Nation Media Group Websites go down: Server hitch to blame

    Two big websites, both the Daily Nation and Business daily part of the Nation Media Group’s (NMG) website have remained silent for the fourth day since last week Friday due to is a server issues. The websites which are hosted in the United Kingdom are both registered by MTN Business and are hosted by NTT Europe Limited.

    However, other online platforms including social media of the two companies have of course not been affected. In a tweet posted on Twitter two days back the Daily Nation says it is experiencing a technical hitch on its websites as seen below.

    What is at stake

    Based on Alexa Rankings, Business Daily is ranked 31st most visited in Kenya and it receives around 360,000 views from about 70,000 visitors daily while the Daily Nation has about 2 million views from 410,000 visitors on a daily basis.

    Statistics from Alexa.com further show that the Daily Nation website has a global traffic rank of just over 5000 while Business Daily is ranked at 23,030.
