    Safeboda launches a new reckoning safety awareness campaign

    Gone are the days when modern hailing services were dominated by self-owned sedans, with the emergence of Uber in Uganda that sparked off a blend of light to the then non-digital startup Safeboda for an app showdown, the results have turned out to be phenomenal with Taxify, Little and Dial Jack populating the city for a slice of the competitive cake

    While Uber Uganda recently unveiled their insurance package for riders and divers using their UberBoda service. Safeboda on the other hand has unveiled a new reckoning medical awareness campaign to reach out to all registered and unregistered riders trecking the streets of Kampala.

    Although Insurance packages have been the common spice as implemented by Uber and Dial Jack. Safeboda’s approach dives in from a brain surgery angle to save many more lives that could be in danger, whether on or off any boda hailing service as the firm chose to partner with the Neurosurgical society of Uganda (NSU) on a safety drive.

    According to officials from NSU, they chose to partner with the market leader before switching on to other providers simply because of more patients turning out to be Motorbike riders. Despite the fact that they are less than 15 qualified doctors attending to millions of awaiting brain patients, NSU’s goal with Safeboda is a long term partnership to boost the number to 30 or more in a bid to reduce the rate of preventable incidents as the officials inked.

    “We are choosing to partner with Safeboda first because we receive more Boda patients than any other with only a few doctors attending to these. Our partnership is a long term exposure as we want each and every Boda passenger to wear a helmet on their next trip whether using an app or not to reduce brain damage cases”

    The fate of safety to the boda hailing sector

    In the event that impacted the birth of Safeboda, Rick Thompson one of the co-founders always narrates the death of his closest colleague who had no helmet gear by then to a point that he began a solo campaign to promote double usage for both the driver and rider. Surprisingly the helmet drive hasn’t registered maximum impact on the industry yet as we didn’t get a chance to hook up one during our Taxify Boda pickup even we got a chance juggle a black one with Uber boda.

    As a point often overlooked, the Neurosurgical society of Uganda (NSU) will be conducting a countrywide move to rank up the rate of helmet users on each and every motorbike trip in Kampala starting with a health bootcamp over the weekend. However, this means that firms like Taxify, DialJack, Uberboda and Safeboda may register long pings from novices as to enjoy trips spiced up by extra free helmets on each and every maneuvered corner on a motorbike. Nonetheless, as these independent organs continue to embrace ride hailing solutions, the modern industry could be headed for the best times that may see all ordinary providers register to these fast rising ride hailing firms.
