You can now Group chat on Twitter

Today, Twitter has today rolled out a new group messaging feature enabling it’s users to take part in private Direct Message chats in groups as large as 20 people. This new update is the company’s  latest effort to get users to interact more with one another inside the app, and even connect with users they’ve never met before.

With group messages you will be able to chat with everyone in the group whether you follow one another or not. They simply need to be added to the group by someone they follow. This is analogous to WhatsApp group chat where you can chat with people in a group even if they are not in your contacts.

Twitter has updated its private messaging feature several times in the past year in order to compete with the large number of messaging platforms like Messenger, Viber and Whats App.
