WhatsApp for Android goes racially diverse with new emojis

Racial diversity is such a big issue now days, and this has also tricked down in the apps we use on a daily basis. After Apple included new racially diverse emoji with iOS 8.3  WhatsApp has also gone ahead and added support for it within its Android app. WhatsApp has always been using Apple’s emoji set, so this comes as no surprise. Just like on iOS, emojis support multi-color options can be pressed and held to show additional options.

WhatsApp also added support for the Vulcan salute emoji, so if you manage to enable it using the convoluted trick, your friends on Android can now see it in WhatsApp. Moreover, they can send it back much easier as it just appears in the emoji drawer.

If you want it you must try out the beta version of the app in the source link below on the WhatsApp website, as the Play Store version is rarely up to date with features. You will need to download that if you wish to acquire these emojis. This works both ways so you can’t send these new emojis to a person with an outdated version of the app.
