    WhatsApp adds a Favorites option, to easily reach those that matter

    WhatsApp has introduced a new feature that allows users to set their favorite contacts and groups as favorites, making it easier to manage and prioritize their communications. This feature, known as “Favorites,” is designed to help users quickly locate and interact with the people and groups that matter most to them.

    How to Use the WhatsApp Favorites Feature

    To add contacts or groups to your favorites:

    1. From the Chats Screen:
      • Open WhatsApp on your phone.
      • From your chats screen, select the ‘favorites’ filter.
      • Choose your contacts or groups to add to your favorites.
    2. From the Calls Tab:
      • Open the calls tab.
      • Tap ‘Add favorite’.
      • Select your contacts or groups to add to your favorites.
    3. From Settings:
      • Go to Settings > Favorites > Add to Favorites.
      • You can reorder your favorites at any time.

    Benefits of the Favorites Feature

    The favorites feature offers several benefits:

    Users can quickly find their favorite contacts and groups at the top of their calls tab and as a filter for their chats.

    The favorites feature helps users organize their chats and calls, making it easier to manage their interactions.

    Rollout and Availability

    The rollout of the favorites feature began on July 16, 2024, and is expected to be accessible to all users within the coming weeks. 

    Initially, the feature is available to some users who have installed the latest updates of WhatsApp for Android from the Google Play Store and WhatsApp for iOS from the App Store.
