For over a year now, Android users have been the beneficiaries of WhatsApp Business application – using it in their small businesses to connect with customers much easier. The wait in the iOS camp is finally over, with the Facebook-owned platform now available for use on iPhones.
Users should be able to download it for free from the Apple App Store to benefit from the features that can scale their businesses while boosting communication with customers, the way it is with the Android app.
Basically, the app should allow you to create a profile for your business, including details like its description, email, addresses, and website; it should let you readily respond to customers using the inbuilt messaging tools; plus to let you use your desktop to chat and share files to customers.
This is because WhatsApp’s web interface is as well fully supported by the business app. WhatsApp says the Business app for iOS will be rolling out globally in the next coming weeks.

WhatsApp vs WhatsApp for Business
The difference between the ‘original’ WhatsApp messaging app and WhatsApp Business is that the latter lets business owners set up a profile to share company details to potential and already existing clients which the former doesn’t do exactly.
A customer can get to know your business’ address and contact, and freely interact with you on the business because they have the image of the business in mind, while the standard WhatsApp application only creates a one-on-one conversation.
WhatsApp Business App vs WhatsApp Business API
The WhatsApp Business API is a paid service designed for bigger corporate companies, allowing them to send out notifications like boarding passes and receipts, as well as respond to customer queries.
Precisely, WhatsApp Business app is designed for small scale businesses. It is targeted for the emerging markets where first-time internet users only know of mobile devices as the means of accessing the internet, and have no significant idea about using desktop computers.
