WhatsApp has announced a significant update to its multi-device feature, allowing users to link their WhatsApp account to multiple phones. Just like it is with Telegram, this new feature enables users to switch between phones without signing out, making messaging much more convenient.
The company first introduced the ability for users to message across multiple devices seamlessly while maintaining the same level of privacy and security last year. With this latest update, users can now link up to four additional phones to their WhatsApp account, similar to how WhatsApp works on web browsers, tablets, and desktops.

Each linked phone operates independently, ensuring that personal messages, media, and calls are end-to-end encrypted. If your primary device is inactive for a long time, WhatsApp automatically logs you out of all companion devices, further protecting your privacy and security.
WhatsApp understands the need for businesses to have multiple employees respond to customers directly from their phones under the same Business account. Therefore, this update allows small business owners to add additional employees to respond to customer queries and messages quickly.
The update also introduces an alternative and more accessible way to link to companion devices. Instead of scanning a QR code, you can now enter your phone number on WhatsApp Web to receive a one-time code, which you can use on your phone to enable device linking.
The company has confirmed that this feature will be available to everyone globally in the coming weeks.
