What’s new with Google Chrome 75 on web and mobile

Google Chrome is by far the most popular internet browser in the country and most of us use it because of speed and other customizable functions. Starting from last week, Google has been releasing updated version 75 of Chrome for Android users and Desktops(Mac, Windows and Linux computers) that deliver fixes, improvements, and new tools from the predecessors’ version.

Here are some of the new features you can try out in the updated Google chrome version 75.

    Mobile Applications

On the mobile platform, Chrome has introduced a number of new password tweaks that should make inputting credentials easier than ever before. Now, when a user clicks on a sign in sheet, a bar will present itself at the top of the smartphone keyboard.

This will feature a lock button that will show saved passwords for that site.

Moreover, if an Android fan is creating a new account or altering their password, a new button will appear above their keyboard that reads “suggest strong password”.

Confirming the option will force Chrome to generate a “strong” password for the user that will be saved.

Moreover, with Chrome 75 Google is also adding a new feature for developers dubbed “Scroll Snap Stop” that will allow creators to choose a position or item that cannot be skipped over by using a scroll.

Google used the example of a user swiping through a gallery only being allowed to move through one image at a time to showcase how the functionality could be harnessed

This same feature is being introduced for Mac, Windows, and Linux.

    Web and Mobile Applications

In terms of desktops, one of the most notable new features comes from the fact Chrome’s Site Isolation feature permanently turned on. Site Isolation was introduced by Google last year to help combat against virus attacks.

Explaining how the tool works, the American tech giant said: “When you turn on site isolation, Chrome offers more security protections for your browser.

“Chrome will load each website in its own process. So, even if a site bypasses the same-origin policy, the extra security will help stop the site from stealing your data from another website.”

With the new update, Google has also introduced a new Reader mode which turns a page into a nice-to-read black on a white page allowing you to read without forcing your eyes. Ads and animations are also removed while on reader mode. Keep in mind this feature comes hidden and not active by default so for you to use, you need to enable it from the route chrome://flags/ and toggle the tab button to active.
