Posta Uganda has gone digital and now people can get get a personal ePosta Virtual address that will give users a chance of timely Notifications whenever they have a parcel or package, Tracked and Traced. Ugandans can now apply for a box online and pay instantly using mobile money and users can also request for delivery among other things.

Personal ePosta service now costs UGX 20,000 per year and you can pay for over a period of 5 years. You must have your National ID or Passport ready, avail your phone number and Residence Address. Since you pay via mobile money you must have an MTN or Airtel number, unfortunately, Africell money is not an option here.
To get started follow you can go to their portal sign up and you are good to go. Here is what do you need to before getting an ePosta virtual address.
- A Post box shall not be rented in a fictitious name or for an improper purpose.
- The right to the use of a box may only be transferred from one person to another upon the written request of the renter and with the written authority of the Managing Director of Posta Uganda.
- A box shall not be rented by more than one person at the same time.
- Delivery or mail into a box is in all respects deemed equivalent to personal delivery to the addressee.
- Any mail erroneously placed, or which due to an incorrect address is sorted into a box it was not intended for, must be returned to the Post Office without delay endorsed with the words “Not for Box No.” written on the address side of the envelop.
- For Boxes that have Locks, no lock or key may be replaced by the renter or any other person. Repairs and replacements of locks and keys are the mandate of Posta Uganda at the expense of the renter, and on such terms and conditions as may be prescribed by Posta Uganda from time to time. Renters are also not permitted to make additional keys, as these are supplied by Posta Uganda upon payment of the requisite fees.
- The duration of the lease period shall be for a period of one year and on the expiration of any rental period Posta Uganda may, at its sole discretion refuse to re-let a box to any renter without assigning any reason for so doing.
- Upon completion of one year, and on payment of box rental renewal fees by the renter, Posta Uganda shall renew the lease of a rental box for a further term of 12 months.
- During the lease period the renter shall be paying a yearly rental fee; The rental fees shall be due and payable after 12 months. Renewal must be done within 21st after expiry of the rent period.
- If for any reason whatsoever, the yearly rental fee shall remain unpaid after 21 days mentioned in 9 above, Posta Uganda reserves the right to terminate the lease and the box shall be repossessed forthwith and consequently allocated without any reference to the renter in default. Notwithstanding the termination of the lease, Posta Uganda shall have the right to demand for the full payment of the yearly rentals in arrears.
- Posta Uganda shall have the right to revise the yearly rental fee as it deems fit.
- The Post Office Box address remains the property of Posta Uganda rentable to individuals, companies, Organizations, or any other Party and therefore Posta Uganda reserves the right to re-allocate, withdraw and /or change any box number, without notice to the renter as and when the need arises.
- The lease of the Post box (Virtual or Physical) shall terminate by either party giving 30 days’ notice for any reason whatsoever or none, provided that; Where the termination is at the instance of the renter, lease shall terminate forthwith. However, the renter shall not be entitled to a refund for the remaining period of the lease.
- Posta Uganda has the right to terminate the use of a box if any of the above conditions are not complied with by the user, or if in its opinion, the box is being used for an improper or unlawful purpose.
- Posta Uganda reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions.
