We are in an age where watching TV does not necessarily require one to be within the midst of your comfort preferably your living room. TV can now be watched everywhere or anywhere so long as there is an internet connection. One of the newest Direct-To-Home TV providers, Kwese TV prides itself on such an approach but its not alone in the game. Other Ugandan TV providers have mobile avenues from which to watch their channels and content though they are short of advertising them to their respective audiences.
Below are the easiest ways of accessing some Ugandan TV channels on the Go. Please note that not every TV station or provider is here but at least the most watched ones are.
TV Station’s own website
Many Ugandan TV stations have built up websites though commendable ones are still few so more still needs to be done. So have inbuilt live TV integrations using YouTube, U-Stream among others. Ones worth a mention come from both NTV and NBS.
TV Stations Facebook Pages
Facebook introduced Live to its audience and those paying attention went bonkers. Broadcasting oneself or an event has never been easier than “Facebook Living”. However, you have to note that a few Ugandan TV stations embrace it and normally throw in live events and news bulletins while the rest of programming is left on linear or satellite feeds among others. Still channels heavy on Facebook Live are NBS and NTV plus Kwese Free Sports when it comes to sporting events. Others are yet to wake up.
YouTube
So far YouTube is the biggest of all platforms employed by TV stations. Here you have to visit individual channels on YouTube and select their live broadcast. Whereas other platforms mentioned earlier don’t have a full broadcasting lineup, you can find it on YouTube. YouTube is TV away from TV.
Also, most TV channels are here and ones with a notable presence are NTV and Bukedde. Others throw in bits and bytes of some of their best content for free. All these can be accessed through the YouTube website and its wide array of apps.
TV Stations own apps
These are not many any quality ones are few. So we shall just stick to a few in no particular order. Local Stations have their own apps, majority of which have nothing compared to a seamless experience but apps like NBS’s NBS Television did deliver, You can watch both NTV and Spark TV on the VidTV app, the whole Salt media umbrella can be found in the Salt Media App.

Kwese Free Sports beats all hands down with a smooth experience with its app. Most of the aforementioned apps offer a lot more than live TV including news, catch up content among others.
Satellite TV Apps
These are very stable compared to the previous lot. The caveat though is that you must be a subscriber to their services to get the most out of them. Some of them even have both live TV and a large catalogue of movies plus other premium entertainment content and so far they pose the best on the whole list.
DSTV has DSTV Now, Startimes has Startime – Live & Football, there is Azam TV, Kwese TV for Kwese TV subscribers.
