    WanaKiwi is the Wannacry ransomware tool savior

    If you are computer friendly or you use the Internet quite often you must be familiar with the global cyber attack involving a ransomware that spread across continents encrypting every file on computers that had been infected. There is a solution and it is called WanaKiwi.

    Well the crying and the regrets are almost over, if your computer has been affected by the widely spreading “Wannacry” ransonware, this is the time for you to smile for the moment.

    Adrien Guinet, a French security researcher from Quarkslab, has given us hope again just as our local church pastors, he has discovered the secret encryption keys used by Wannacry and how they work according more still how your computers got infected in the first place.

    The file decryption process works for windows operating systems as far as the old Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows Vista and Server operating systems 2008.

    The tool can be downloaded from this link https://github.com/gentilkiwi/wanakiwi/releases

    Please follow the steps below to recover your files using WanaKiwi

    NB: The steps below will work only if the computer has not been rebooted after has been affected or the associated memory has not been erased or overwritten by a running process

    1. Download WanaWiki from https://github.com/gentilkiwi/wanakiwi/releases
    1. Extract and  make sure wanakiwi.exe is in the same folder with the .pky file before its launched
    1. Open Your Command Prompt and go to the download directory (download location for wanawiki)

    cd /Users\me\Downloads\wanawiki\wanawiki.exe

    1. press Enter
    1. Keep your figures crossed as the software performs the magic
