What’s igniting about the upcoming Tecno Spark 3?

Mid last year, we welcomed the Tecno Spark 2 to Uganda, succeeding the very first Spark smartphones on the market that featured super bright cameras. Particularly, this second version of the Spark came with Android Oreo’s Go Edition and this made it one of the most popular lines. This year is not settling for any less, with a brighter Tecno Spark 3 already set to launch in the coming days.

The phone is already on market in other countries like Kenya and Nigeria, but a delay does not mean a miss; and the smartphones are likely to be a hotter cake than the predecessors given they come with a number of unique features to satisfy user needs at an appealing price.

The Spark 3 is building on the minimal bezels on the Spark 2’s 6-inch display, while adding a notch – a feature that is becoming a normality for every new entrant on the market today. We could also see a new 19:9 aspect ratio on the devices at launch.

Camera wise, Tecno is marketing an intelligent yet bright camera on the series, featuring an 8 MP front camera sensor, and a dual-camera setup of 13 MP + 2 MP. Tecno brings back the Mix Flash, which involves using both Screen flash and Dual front LED flash to illuminate the face as you take night selfies, and this will give the phone’s photography a much bigger output than usual.

Additionally, the front camera will feature a number of modes like the AI Soft Light Selfie, AI beauty, AI Portrait and Bokeh, AI HDR, and AI Face Unlock – all attributed to Artificial Intelligence.

The devices will be equipped with a lasting battery life, could feature Android’s latest Pie OS running along HiOS version 4.6, and also have an adjustable flashlight on it – to bring out the flash brightness as per your interest by sliding your finger on the screen up and down. The standard version could have a 1 GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory, with the pro higher with 2 GB and 32 GB storage on it.

There is no mention of the pricing yet, but close sources reveal that the price will not go over UGX 500,000. We shall find out more details about this anticipated TECNO series next week at launch.
