There’s no longer any doubt: Infinix will soon unveil its fifth handset of 2018 this month. The new device is called the Infinix S3X and its Uganda launch is getting closer. As with many device launches, leaks become numerous as we zero down on the launch date. However, soon all will be revealed to us here in Ugnda. We have spotted some of the device’s specs in the wild ahead of schedule and we are pretty excited. The said device has already been unveiled in Nigeria and some other markets.
Design and Display of the Infinix S3X
The Infinix S3X will present a more immersive experience with the new trend for 2018 smartphones.
First off, the Infinix S3X sports a notch design. Yes, just like the iPhone X and sundry other 2018 phones. This may well explain the X in the name of the upcoming device. I am a big fun of the notch (I don’t care if everyone hates it), even though devices like the Find X already mastered a notch-less full display.
The notch screen translates to about 6.2″ HD+ Full view display. There is also 19:9 aspect ratio which makes the screen almost bezel-less. Consequently, the Infinix S3X will avail more display real estate perfect viewing experience especially for movies and gaming.
The specs sheet points to a modern looking smartphone with the looks of the iPhone X. The Infinix S3X has a metal print all over the side. The back cover is shiny and transparent like a mirror. It is also hard and wear resistant like a metal.

The low light selfie camera
The Infinix S3X will feature the low light selfie prowess of the Infinix S3, with a bit of AI. It will feature a 16MP FF f2.0 4 in 1 low-light selfie camera. Therefore, the S3X’s selfie camera will be able to capture every detail, even in low light with its advanced ultrapixels to bring out beauty in its most.
The AI technology will enable the selfie camera to detect your gender, age and your facial expressions. Hence, it will package a beauty solution that gives you the perfect selfie that you desire.
Dual Rear Camera setup
The Infinix Hot 6 Pro excited us with its dual camera setup. The S3X will also feature dual rear cameras for portrait mode. There will probably be a 13MP+2MP.
The main 13MP camera will fully capture the depths of your surroundings while the 2MP is for focusing on the distance to balance the image quality to effect the best portrait.
A 4,000mAh Battery.
Big batteries mean more usage times. The Infinix S3X will feature a 4000mAh with 2A quick charge. The 4000mAh high-capacity battery coupled with the energy-efficient XOS translates to about 2 days of average usage. This obviously doesn’t dethrone the Infinix Note 5 which delivers 3 days of battery on average usage. However, the stamina of the Infinix S3X is a rare sighting that should be embraced.
Smart Gestures and Performance.
Google introduced gesture centered navigation with Android Pie. The SX3 will also come with smart gesture to enable you to hide the navigation bar so you always enjoy a full view.
The Infinix S3X will also feature an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon. This means high quality graphics for better gaming without jam.
Price and Availability.
The S3X will be available in Blue, Gray and Black. Pricing and availability date hasn’t been established. However, it might be launched sooner than expected. Judging by the specs sheet, price may not deviate much from that of the Infinix Note 5.
