    Uganda to host Africa’s largest Blockchain Conference

    Blockchain is a continuously growing list of records called blocks which are linked and secured using cryptography. It is best known as the underlying technology behind most crypto-currencies like the famous Bitcoin which we opined about here , Etherium among others but it could be used in other areas aside from crypto-currencies and Uganda is lucky to be host, for this years The Africa Blockchain conference that will take place on 23rd – 24th May, at the Kampala Serena Hotel.

    The conference will bring together leaders in policy, business, academia from all around to Kampala. The event’s theme will be the “the role of blockchain technology in Africa’s transformation” and is organised by The Blockchain Association of Uganda in conjunction with the government of Uganda.

    The two day event will bring together 700 participants, 15 speakers, 30 panelists, a hackathon plus 6 breakout sessions.A series of impactful and H.E. Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, the former president of Mauritius.

    Key speakers include; Prof. Tumusiime Mutebile, the Bank of Uganda Governor, Hon. Bagiire Waiswa, Dr. Bitange Ndemo among others.
