    Uber expands to new areas

    Uber is a popular ride sharing app in Uganda but has of late been faced with stiff competition from other companies like Safe boda and Bolt Uganda (Taxify). This has seen the company expand its product offering to Uber boda in order to share a piece of that market in Uganda. This has however been limited with the “Kampala only” coverage that Uber has. Today, UberX coverage area will include Mukoko, Uganda Christian University, Seeta, Ssonde, Gayaza, Nansana, Abayita ababiri and Kasangati.

    In addition to the existing areas like main Kampala and Entebbe, you can now request an Uber from these addition these areas and be on your way in minutes. The last time Uber expanded was in 2017 to cover areas like Lweza, Seguku Hill, Lubowa Hill, Bunamwaya, Busega, Kanyanya, Serena Kigo. Lets compare both the expansion using the maps below.
