Twitter is testing conversation labels to distinguish between replies

Twitter is by far a more conversational and user engaging platform than all the other social media platforms available. It is not a doubt that the app is devising more means to make this realistic when it comes to threads, and to give a better experience to the new entrants.

The company has announced that it’s testing out new labels to be added on conversation threads in a bid to help the users distinguish responses. The new format would introduce labels such as ‘Mentioned’ and ‘Author’ to clarify who authored the post, and who is mentioned in it – letting you easily follow them.

Twitter is also experimenting on adding a colors to highlight the responses from the original tweeter, and those where one is just mentioned.

This is not the first of tests on conversation threads. Sometime back, it became clear that the app wants to add a label to indicate who the “original tweeter” is. This was built to point out whoever starts a thread while weeding out any spam.

And just last month, Jane Manchun Wong leaked a prototype of a subscription button that Twitter is probably working on that would let users follow conversations without having to like or reply to them.
