    Imagine using a smartphone, tablet or computer without an internet connection. Well, you agree that these devices are more less useless nowadays if you cannot get online. Apart from apps, user are mainly using internet browsers to navigate several websites.

    But, have you ever wondered which are the most commonly used browsers in used in Uganda? According to the Global Stats results for the Internet browser Market Share in Uganda for May 2019, Chrome holds the largest quota of the share taking up 60% of the smartphones held in browsers used in Uganda on all devise platforms.     UC Browser is among the Internet browsers developed by the Chinese mobile Internet company UCWeb, which is in turn owned by the Alibaba Group. The browser uses cloud acceleration and data compression technology. UC Browser’s servers act as a proxy which compresses and renders the data of web pages before sending it to users. This process helps to load web content faster.

Even if you can get Safari for Windows, you will be hard pressed to find a Safari user since Apple stopped supporting it in 2012.     Microsoft is the least popular among the Internet browsers. Still tainted with the curse of Internet Explorer, moving to Edge has not improved Microsoft’s fortunes that much. It was first released for Windows 10 and Xbox One in 2015, for Android and iOS in 2017, then macOS in 2019. Microsoft recently announced that we are working on the next version of Microsoft Edge based on Chromium.
