News fresh from TZ, indicated that Huawei Technologies has partnered with mobile phone operator Tigo Tanzania to introduce a new mid range and affordable Smartphone,Huawei Ascend Y300.
The new handset seeks to enable the community cope with the fast growing technologies, with connection to internet anywhere, anytime. “Ascend Y300 has Dualcore 1.0GHz CPU, which Supports 720p HD Video play.
To enjoy the best effect, one can play some hot games easily and simply on this new handset,” says Huawei Technologies Tanzania’s Marketing and Distribution Manager Ramadhan Nkanyemka. The handset boasts of other features such as dual-cameras.
“This feature is rarely seen in other entry level smartphones,” Mr Nkenyemka told reporters in Dar es Salaam over the weekend, adding that the handset has a four-inch display made on high strength scratch resistant glass, narrow frame design.
The new Smartphone is based on Google Android Jelly Bean operating system which intends to give the user an excellent browsing experience with the operating system from Google.
In the Smartphone age, the standby ability of the handset is another feature that the consumer considers greatly. During the testing stage, Huawei handset proved wonderful performance.
“The standby time covers the whole day long without recharging; 20 calls lasting 48 minutes, 15 text messages, 30 minutes of music play, 20 minutes of video play, 30 minutes of internet browsing and 25 minutes on Facebook/twitter, yet the power consumption was only 55 per cent,” said the company’s Service Manager, Mr Joseph Lyimo.
Mr Lyimo attributed the best battery performance on the power serving technology developed by Huawei and the big capacity battery with 1730mAh.
Huawei Technologies’ Device Country Manager, Mr Peter Zhang, was confident that with the combination of its applications, Huawei Ascend Y300, will hit the ground running and stay at the peak of all other Smartphones of the same category in Tanzania. There is no word on pricing as yet.
