    KAMPALA IN THE FUTURE

    KCCA Plans
KCCA Artistic Impression for Namirembe Road

As Kampala’s City Authority plans to make a facelift for Uganda’s capital, we have seen several concepts and ideas being thrown around by them in main stream media. From fly-over cable cars to an improved railway network, KCCA is determined to decongest the city. The latest plans reveal in pictures below, a bike road network (BRT) where cars, pedestrians and bicycles coexist on the same tiny roads of Kampala (We wonder if boda-bodas are counted as bikes in this scenario?). The images also show a comparison of before and after artistic impressions of Namirembe road, Namirembe-Luwum Street, Luwum Street and other plans of how the Authority envisions Kampala in the near future. Do you think the plans are realistic? Hit us in our comments section below.
